Adding a Google translator plugin to your mobile site

Mobile site translatorLet me start with saying that I am a big opponent of relying on auto-translation tools, and here is why. It may be a good idea to start with an auto-translator to cover some of the manual work, but if your purpose is to provide a clear marketing message to potential customers, you really cannot go without a human being fluent in both languages to at least verify that the translation makes sense.

However, we've had a few requests about adding an auto-translate feature as part of the platform. While we don't have immediate plans to enable automated translation as part of piJnz, there is a great workaround that is also very easy to implement, should you want to add this feature to your mobile sites.

Here is how you add a Google translator plugin to the mobile site.

1. Go to https://translate.google.com/manager, and click on "Add to your website" button. You will be asked to fill out the site web address (Website URL):

On the next step you can define what languages you'd like the translation to be available in (all or any specific languages), the look of your translator tool, and a few other options. Then click on "Get Code" button to generate the HTML code to be added to your mobile page.

2. Next, in piJnz page editor, drag the Custom HTML widget to your page, and place it where you need the translator to be displayed on the page. Next, copy and paste the code from Google's translator tool into the Custom HTML widget and the "SEO and Access" -> "Header HTML Insert section":

Translator - mobile site

Click Save. You should see the translator plugin added to your mobile site, with options for your visitors to see the translated page in their preferred language.
